What are the cultivation methods and precautions for hydroponic Anthurium

Hydroponic Anthurium Cultivation Method

Hydroponic Anthurium prefers a humid environment and is suitable for growing in a warm, humid and semi-shady environment. However, hydroponics is a little difficult and the survival rate is low. The Anthurium grown in soil needs to be tamed and allowed to grow new roots in the water before being placed in water for hydroponics.

Hydroponic Anthurium is a sun-loving plant. It needs to be given about 2-3 hours of light and provided with a growing environment of 14-28℃. The water should be changed every 2-3 days at ordinary times and once a week in winter. In addition, after the occurrence of diseases and pests, timely preventive measures should be taken, diseased leaves should be trimmed, and proper ventilation should be provided during maintenance to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.

Watering method

Hydroponic Anthurium likes a humid environment and needs sufficient water for the plant to grow vigorously. In the initial stage of maintenance, change the water every 2-3 days, and then change the water every 7 days to maintain the water clean and not too turbid.

Fertilization method

In order for hydroponic Anthurium to grow healthily, it needs to be fertilized in time. Generally, some nutrient solution can be added when watering, and it can be added once every half a month. Fertilizer damage should not occur.

Pruning methods

During the growth period of hydroponic Anthurium, the petiole at the base will gradually degenerate and need to be pruned in time after it becomes dry. When the pedicel turns yellow after flowering, you can retain 2 cm at the base and cut off the rest.

Precautions for hydroponic cultivation of anthurium

Hydroponic Anthurium cannot tolerate strong light exposure. Sufficient scattered light needs to be provided in summer. At the same time, it is best to rotate the plants regularly to ensure uniform light. The best temperature for indoor maintenance is between 16-24 degrees, and it must not be lower than 12 degrees or higher than 30 degrees. Temperature control measures need to be taken during high and low temperatures.
