What are the cultivation methods and precautions for violets?

Violet cultivation method

Violet belongs to the cruciferous plant family. Its main method of reproduction is sowing, which is carried out in September every year. For it, it can be carried out in August-October, depending on the climate at that time. It is a relatively good ornamental plant.

Violets prefer a cool climate and need a well-ventilated environment when growing. The most suitable growth temperature for them is between 15-18 degrees. When planting, neutral to alkaline soil with good drainage is generally used. Sufficient sunlight is needed during maintenance.

Watering method

Violets need to be watered in moderation. They prefer a semi-wet and semi-dry growing environment, so try to water them as little as possible and avoid water accumulation, otherwise it will cause root rot.

Fertilization method

Violets are generally fertilized according to their growth. When they are first planted, sufficient base fertilizer needs to be applied. When they reach the seedling stage, they need to be topdressed with 1-2 times of decomposed liquid fertilizer. During the growth period, they need to be fertilized once every two weeks.

Pruning methods

When pruning violets, the scissors need to be disinfected. When the side branches grow too long, they need to be cut off. Only 3-4 side branches need to be left. After the flowering period, some dead branches and flowers need to be cut off.

Violet cultivation precautions

When growing violets, you need to be careful and choose the flowerpots according to their growth. In addition, there needs to be a good ventilation environment during maintenance to reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests. When there are diseases and pests, you need to use pesticides to eliminate them.
