How to propagate black heart chrysanthemum

Seed propagation of Rudbeckia

The sowing and propagation of blackheart chrysanthemum is generally carried out in spring and autumn. If it is sown in March in spring, it will bloom in June and July. If it is sown in September in autumn, it will be transplanted in November and it will bloom in May of the following year.

Choose suitable soil, sow seeds, keep the temperature above 20℃, and they will germinate in about half a month. After caring for a period of time, when the blackheart chrysanthemum seedlings grow 4-5 leaves, they can be transplanted. When the blackheart chrysanthemum seedlings survive, they can be cared for normally.

For the propagation of Rudbeckia by seeds, seed collection is required. In August and September each year, choose the mature inflorescences of Rudbeckia, cut them off, dry them and place them in a dry and cool place, remove the debris and select the seeds. The selected seeds can be placed in a dry, dark and well-ventilated place for maintenance. The temperature can be maintained at around 5℃-10℃ and can be stored for about a year.

Division propagation of Rudbeckia

Rudbeckia can also be propagated by division, which can be carried out in spring and autumn. Division generally involves dividing old perennial plants.

Cutting propagation of Rudbeckia

Cutting propagation is the third method of propagation of Rudbeckia. Cutting propagation is carried out in spring or autumn, and generally new shoots sprouting from the roots of Rudbeckia are chosen for cuttings.

For spring cuttings of Rudbeckia, you can take them out for cuttings when the buds of Rudbeckia grow to about 15cm. In autumn, the cuttings of Rudbeckia can be carried out after the flowering period of Rudbeckia and after buds sprout from the roots.

The most common method of propagation of black heart chrysanthemum is seed propagation.
