How to grow lucky bamboo in a pot

Lucky bamboo belongs to the Agavaceae family and is a foliage plant. When it is propagated, it is generally propagated by cuttings or sowing. It prefers a high temperature growing environment.

1. Soil

When planting lucky bamboo, sandy soil with good drainage is usually used, which is more conducive to its growth and development.

2. Lighting

Lucky bamboo needs a suitable lighting environment during maintenance, preferably scattered light. When the light is strong in summer, it needs proper shade, otherwise it will lead to slow growth.

3. Temperature

Lucky bamboo prefers a warm growing environment, so the temperature needs to be kept between 18-24 degrees during maintenance. If the temperature is lower than 13 degrees, it will stop growing.

4. Watering

Lucky bamboo prefers a humid growing environment. When watering, water it thoroughly to avoid water accumulation. In addition, during the high temperatures in summer, more water should be sprinkled to ensure the humidity of the air.

5. Fertilization

When fertilizing lucky bamboo, some decomposed organic fertilizers are generally applied. During the growing period, it is necessary to fertilize once a month. It should be noted that fertilizers with relatively low concentrations must be used.

6. Pruning

When pruning lucky bamboo, be sure to use sterilized scissors to properly prune some branches that have grown too long, and also thin out some of the denser branches and leaves, which will be more conducive to growth.

Precautions for cultivating potted lucky bamboo

When caring for lucky bamboo, you need to pay attention to its poor cold resistance, so it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance in winter, and there must be an appropriate temperature environment, especially in the northern region, the temperature needs to be kept above 5 degrees, otherwise it will affect its growth.
