How to propagate baboon flower, it grows super well this way!

Take new bulbs/small bulbs for distribution

The bulbs of the baboon flower will bloom in the spring, then shrink and harden, and some new bulbs and smaller bulbils will grow on them. On the one hand, we can plant these new bulbs directly in September or October, and they will bloom in the early spring of the following year. In addition, we can also plant these small bulbs and let them grow for another year. In the spring of the third year, we can see them blooming.

Potted plants

If it is planted in a 16-20cm flowerpot, in order to ensure a good growing environment, 7-8 bulbs can be planted in each flowerpot, with a planting depth of 3cm.

The soil used for potted plants can be a mixture of sandy loam and humus soil, with a ratio of 2:1.

It should be placed in a sunny place indoors in November, and watered frequently to ensure that it has sufficient moisture. It will sprout stems and bloom after a short time. After that, reduce watering until the leaves wither and stop watering. Remove the bulbs and store them in a dry environment until autumn when they can be planted.

Open field planting

From September to October, in the Yangtze River and areas to its south, it can be cultivated directly in the open air in places with sufficient sunlight and good drainage. The distance between them is 5cm, and the planting depth is 10cm. They will bloom in the spring of the second year.

In summary, when breeding baboon flowers, you should choose to plant them in sandy loam areas with sufficient sunlight and good drainage. The bulbs evolve and alternate once a year. They can usually be planted in autumn and will almost bloom in the spring of the following year.
