How to grow the pennywort

How to grow the pennywort

Key points for cultivating the fragrant osmanthus

1. Loose soil

Pompom pampas grass likes loose, fertile, well-drained soil. There are many ways to make potting soil. You can use a combination of peat soil and perlite, or you can mix garden soil with slag and add an appropriate amount of sand and gravel to the sandy soil. This can ensure the air permeability of the soil and ensure the breathing and growth of the root system.

2. Adequate lighting

It is best to grow the pennywort in an environment with sufficient light, which is conducive to photosynthesis and can accumulate more nutrients. If the maintenance environment is too dark, the plant will easily develop poorly and the leaves will become thinner, affecting its appearance. Appropriate shade is needed in the summer to prevent the plant from being sunburned.

3. Suitable temperature

The suitable growth temperature for catnip is generally around 23℃. Once the temperature exceeds 35℃, it needs to be sprayed with water appropriately and maintained with good ventilation to lower the temperature. When the temperature is below 10℃, it needs to be moved to a warm place for maintenance in time.

4. Water appropriately

The amount of watering for the pennywort must be controlled during its growth process, and the soil should be dried according to the dryness and wetness of the soil. Usually in spring and autumn, as long as the soil is kept slightly moist, the plant grows slowly in summer and winter, and the potting soil can be kept dry, but it cannot be completely watered.

5. Reasonable fertilization

The growth of catnip requires sufficient nutrients, and fertilization is also very important. In order to avoid fertilizer burns to its root system, thin fertilizers are usually applied. Fertilizers are mostly thin liquid fertilizers, which are easy to absorb. They are applied once every 20 days during the growing season. No fertilizers are applied during the dormant period, but phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be supplemented before winter.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Pendant Fragrance

1. It is very easy for the catnip to branch during its growth process, so it needs to be pruned moderately to promote its healthy growth. Good ventilation should also be maintained to prevent the leaves of the catnip from turning yellow.

2. The catnip is not tolerant to water and humidity. If you water it too much, it will easily lead to root rot. Therefore, you should water it when the soil is dry and water it when the soil is wet. You must water it less in autumn and control watering even more in winter, otherwise it will cause the leaves to turn yellow.
