Rice growth environment conditions and characteristics

Rice growth environment conditions and requirements

Rice is widely distributed in my country. The plant prefers a high temperature, humid, short-day growth environment. It is not very demanding on the soil, but the temperature must be suitable, otherwise the differentiation period of branches and spikelets will be prolonged.

Rice growing temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for rice is around 25-35℃. Temperatures that are too high or too low are not conducive to the growth of the plant. When the temperature is below 20℃ or above 40℃, pollination will be affected.

Rice growth humidity

Rice prefers a humid environment. The relative humidity during the growing period should be 50-90%. The precipitation during the growing period should be between 700-1200 mm. Artificial watering is required when it is insufficient.

Rice growing soil

Rice does not have high requirements for soil. It is best to have soil between sandy and clay with relatively high fertility. The pH value of the soil should be between 6-7.

Rice growth cycle and process

The growth cycle of rice is about 150 days. It goes through several stages in its life, including the seedling stage, tillering stage, heading stage, and fruiting stage. It takes about a month from the beginning of jointing of the plant to the growth of the young ears, after which the grains will slowly become full.
