Which month is suitable for planting dry rice?

When is dry rice planted?

Upland rice is mainly propagated by sowing. It can be planted in April or May in spring, or in June in summer. The land must be prepared and fertilized before planting. 3-5 kilograms can be sown per acre.

Planting time in the north and south: There is not much difference in the planting time of early rice in the north and south, and it can be sown in spring or summer.

Greenhouse planting time: When planting dry rice in a greenhouse, you can choose to sow it in April or May. The climate at this time is suitable and more conducive to seed germination.

Upland rice production areas and planting months

Upland rice is widely distributed in my country, and common producing areas include Heilongjiang, Gansu, Shandong, Jiangsu, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Shaanxi and other provinces.

Shandong upland rice

Shandong dry rice is usually sown in April and May. It takes about 136 days from planting to harvesting. The grains of the plants are relatively large and the rice quality is very good.

Liaoning Upland Rice

Liaoning is rich in Danjing No. 6, which has a full growth period of about 130 days. It is a medium-maturing variety. The leaves of the plant are relatively wide and long and it is highly drought-resistant.

Upland rice varieties and planting months

There are many varieties of upland rice, the most common ones are Shandao, Danjing No. 5, Danjing No. 6, and Upland Rice 297.

Mountain Rice

Wild rice is mostly grown in the hilly areas of the north. It can be planted from April to June and will germinate 8-10 days after sowing. It does not occupy arable land and does not require watering.

Danjing No.5

Danjing No. 5 can be planted in spring, with a growth cycle of about 140 days. The plant has thick stems, wide leaves, dark green leaves, and the rice is very palatable.
