How to grow Epiphyllum

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Choose loose and fertile leaf mold for cultivation. Change the soil every spring.

2. Light: Place it in a place with bright scattered light. Once the position is determined, do not move it at will, which will affect its coupling and germination.

3. Watering: Spring and autumn are its growing seasons, so you need to water it enough. You can spray water on the leaves to increase the humidity, but do not allow water to accumulate in the soil or the roots to rot. Keep the soil in the pot dry during the winter dormancy period.

4. Fertilization: Epiphyllum likes fertilizer, so it needs more fertilizer during the growing period, and you can add a small amount of bone meal. But do not apply raw fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer. Appropriate fertilization can make the flowers of Epiphyllum larger and more colorful.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Cutting propagation: Cuttings are mostly carried out in May, and the survival rate is relatively high.

2. Grafting propagation: Generally it is grafted onto the Epipremnum australis. Choose a sturdy Epiphyllum, make a small cut, select a modified stem of Epiphyllum that is about the same size as the cut, wrap it with cloth, and place it in a well-lit and ventilated place to grow the flowers.

3. Pest and disease control

The main disease is anthrax, which should be sprayed immediately with carbendazim once discovered. The main insect pests are scale insects, which can be removed by gently brushing them off with a soft brush.
