Lavender growth environment conditions and requirements

Lavender is a small shrub that generally grows in Italy, Australia, France, Morocco and other places. Lavender has good adaptability and is resistant to both low and high temperatures. It is more suitable for growing in warm places with sufficient sunshine throughout the year.

Lavender growing temperature

During the normal growth process of lavender, the average growth temperature required is about 8 degrees, and the suitable growth temperature is about 12-15 degrees. When it blooms, the climate temperature must reach 20-22 degrees. Lavender is not afraid of cold and can generally withstand temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees.

Lavender growth humidity

Lavender does not have very high requirements for water during its growth period. It is a plant that likes dryness. Generally, when watering, as long as the soil is not dry and is kept slightly moist, it will be fine. Less watering is needed when it blooms.

Lavender growing soil

Lavender has a well-developed root system and is generally suitable for planting in deep, loose, well-ventilated and fertile soil rich in organic matter. This kind of soil is very beneficial to the growth of lavender. In addition, it cannot be planted in soil that is heavily sticky or poorly drained.

Lavender growth cycle and process

Lavender has a long lifespan, generally living about 10 years. Newly planted lavender can usually germinate in just a week and bloom after a year of care. Lavender generally blooms from May to October, and the flowering period is relatively long.
