How to care for Ebisu

How to care for Ebisu

Ebisu Growing Conditions

Ebisu is suitable for growing in humid, warm, dry and sunny places. The growing season is from April to September. Sufficient light should be provided at this time. The winter temperature needs to be above 4 degrees. It likes soil with good air permeability and drainage, is drought-resistant, and is afraid of waterlogging.

How to raise Ebisu

Ebisu Smile is suitable for maintenance in sunny places. The principle of watering is "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do", and water should be avoided to prevent water accumulation in the pot soil to prevent tuberous stem rot. Apply low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, or decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once a month. During the high temperatures in summer, place it in a well-ventilated place with scattered light to prevent stuffiness and humidity, and stop fertilizing.

Ebisu watering

Ebisu likes a humid environment. It can be watered every day during the growth period, but no water accumulation should occur. The temperature difference in autumn is large, so a small amount of water should be given at this time. The plant enters a dormant period in winter, so watering should be stopped to keep the soil dry.

Ebisu Smile Fertilization

The growth rate of Ebisu Smile is relatively slow and it does not require much fertilizer. Generally, it is sufficient to apply compound fertilizer or dilute liquid fertilizer once a month during the growth period. Stop fertilizing in the summer and apply some dilute fertilizer in the winter as appropriate.

Ebisu Smile Pest Control

If Ebisu is watered too much, root rot will occur. The soil can be disinfected before planting, and chemical agents such as furadan can be buried in the soil to kill underground pests. Common diseases are whiteflies and red spiders, which can be prevented and treated accordingly.

How to raise Ebisu at home

Ebisu Smile likes a warm and well-lit growing environment. When raising it, it should be placed in a warm environment with a temperature of about 20℃. It prefers light, and it should be exposed to more sunlight during the growing season. It is not cold-resistant, so water it less in winter and do a good job of cold prevention. Try not to let the temperature drop below 4℃ to prevent it from being sunburned.

Ebisu Smile Care Precautions

The pot of Ebisu needs to be changed every 2-3 years. The soil should be loose, breathable and well-drained. You can add some calcium in an appropriate amount. If you prepare it yourself, you can mix it with leaf mold or peat soil, coarse sand or dragonfly stone, orchid stone, and add an appropriate amount of bone meal as base fertilizer.
