How often should roses be fertilized and what kind of fertilizer should be used

How often should you fertilize roses?

1. The method of fertilizing roses is very simple. When the plants are in the seedling stage, you can fertilize them once every 20 days. When the plants grow up, the amount of fertilizer required will increase, and you can fertilize them once every 10-15 days.

2. Stop fertilizing roses for the first 10 days of flowering. Resume fertilizing after the flowers fade. It is best not to fertilize during flowering.

What fertilizer to use for roses

There are many types of fertilizers for roses, such as nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, potassium fertilizer, calcium fertilizer, magnesium fertilizer, zinc fertilizer, boron fertilizer, etc. Among them, the most used is nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. During the flowering period, it needs to be applied in a ratio of 3:1:3. Compound fertilizer is mainly used during field management.

Rose fertilization method

1. During the growth stage of roses, liquid fertilizer cannot be used directly. It needs to be diluted with water and then sprinkled on the surface of the soil. When the plant is in flowering, you need to pay attention to applying more liquid fertilizer mainly containing phosphorus. Solid fertilizer does not need to be so troublesome and can be directly mixed into the soil.

2. When the rose is in its dormant period, the growth of the plant is basically stagnant, so fertilization can be stopped at this time.
