How to grow purse flowers in autumn

How to grow purse flowers in autumn

1. Autumn maintenance is important

Autumn maintenance is more important for the purse flower, because winter is its flowering period. Good maintenance in autumn can provide a good foundation for its subsequent flowering, otherwise its flowering quality may be poor in winter.

2. How to maintain

1. Temperature: The purse flower is afraid of both cold and heat, so it has high requirements for temperature. Generally speaking, seven to fifteen degrees is best, and the maximum should not exceed twenty degrees. Therefore, cooling measures should be taken in early autumn, and cold protection should be taken in late autumn.

2. Light: The purse flower itself likes light, but not too strong. If the light hours are sufficient, it may bloom early. Generally speaking, an extra three hours of light per day, starting in November, will promote flowering.

3. Watering: Provide appropriate amount of water, but do not allow water to accumulate. If there is accumulated water, it must be drained out in time. The general principle is "see dry and see wet". In addition, it also has requirements for air humidity, and it is best to control it at around 80%. If the air is too dry, you can sprinkle some water next to the flower pot.

4. Fertilization: In autumn, it also requires fertilizer. Appropriate application will help it accumulate nutrients and promote subsequent flowering. Generally once every two weeks. However, if the plant shows obvious signs of excessive growth, fertilization must be stopped. In addition, you can apply some phosphorus fertilizer in moderation to make the flowers look better.
