How to grow daffodils in autumn

How to grow daffodils in autumn

1. Sufficient water

The characteristics of daffodils are different from many other flowers. They mainly grow in autumn and winter and hibernate in summer. Therefore, it is necessary to provide sufficient water in the autumn. Generally speaking, water should be replenished every three days or so. It can grow better only if it is supplemented with enough water.

2. Suitable lighting

Daffodils themselves prefer light, but the lighting time cannot be too short, and their growing environment cannot be too dark. Generally speaking, at least six hours of sunlight per day are required in autumn. The light in autumn is generally not too strong, so as long as the light is not particularly strong, there is no need to block the light.

3. Suitable temperature

For daffodils, the most suitable range is between twelve and twenty degrees. Therefore, you should pay attention when the temperature slowly drops in late autumn. If it is outdoors, it is best to move it indoors. Unsuitable temperatures can result in slower growth and sometimes even frost damage. However, the temperature should not be higher than 25 degrees, otherwise its leaves will grow very long and affect the viewing experience.

4. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

Because autumn is its growth stage, fertilizer is also necessary. Generally, it is applied once a week to ten days, and the main type of fertilizer is phosphorus fertilizer.

5. Pay attention to water changes

If the daffodils are grown in water, change the water once a day at the beginning. Generally, pour out the water at night and pour new water in the next day. Before flowering, change to once every two or three days.
