Learn these 3 tricks, and your bougainvillea tree will be full of 100 flowers!

Bougainvillea lacks light, has few flowers and sparse leaves

Bougainvillea is a super light-loving plant. Once there is insufficient sunlight, it will affect the differentiation of flower buds, the branches will not easily sprout new buds, and even a large number of leaves will fall.

When we take care of it, we should place it on a sunny balcony or window. The better the light, the more flowers the plant will bloom.

Note that after it blooms, do not move it casually, especially if you want to enjoy the flowers, move it to a place without light. Otherwise, the falling flowers and leaves will catch you off guard at any moment.

After the flowering period, be sure to prune the overly dense and overgrown branches, otherwise the sunlight will not penetrate and it will easily cause large areas of leaves to fall off.

Control water and abuse three, flowers bloom

If your safflower has strong branches and leaves but does not bloom, it deserves abuse! Control the watering and make it feel its life is threatened, and it will bloom~

When we find that the branches of the plant are slightly drooping, the new leaves are curling and wilting, and the old leaves are obviously drooping, lifeless, and curling inward significantly, we can water it at this time.

The general water control period is about 20 days, during which time only half of the usual watering amount is given to Bougainvillea. Scientific water control can promote the differentiation and formation of flower buds. Follow Huahua's instructions and the buds will appear soon after water control.

We must be careful not to apply fertilizer during the period of water control. When the plant is in a state of water shortage, its ability to absorb fertilizer will be greatly reduced. If fertilizer is applied at this time, it will easily damage the root system.

Control water before and after fertilization, flower buds will emerge

You cannot fertilize when controlling water, but if you want more flowers, you need to apply fertilizer. You have to grasp the time of fertilization, preferably before or after controlling water.

Generally, we can decide based on the growth status of Bougainvillea. If the plant grows healthily, we can apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers 1 to 2 times before controlling the water.

If the plant grows weakly, Huahua recommends applying organic fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium and supplemented with nitrogen fertilizer 1 to 2 times before controlling water. You should know that if you want the plant to bloom, you must first have a good body~

After the water control is completed, loosen the soil appropriately and apply a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to increase the number and size of flower buds of the plant. Stop fertilizing after the flowers bloom.
