How to breed Chinese dragon's tongue

How to breed Chinese dragon's tongue

1. Seed propagation

First, choose a suitable sowing time, with spring being the best. Then soak the seeds in water for 12 hours, then take them out and plant them by spot sowing, ensuring a certain plant spacing, preferably 3*5 cm.

Keep the temperature between 20-25℃, and it will grow seedlings in about 10 days. When it has 3-4 leaves, you can transplant it for the first time. When the seedlings grow to 10 cm, you can pot them, with 1 to 3 plants in each pot, and then it will bloom next year.

2. Cutting propagation

1. Branch cuttings: Seed propagation is not easy to survive and the amount of flowering is small, so many people choose to propagate by cuttings. If you use branch cuttings, you can find a strong branch in spring or autumn, cut it into sections of 2 to 3 nodes, and leave the top leaves. Insert it into sandy soil, place it in a cool place and keep it moist. It will take root after about 20 days and can be potted after a month.

2. Leaf bud cuttings: First use the side buds on the branches as cuttings, cut them, and bring a small branch with them. Then insert them into the substrate. When the small buds leak out from the outside of the substrate, they can be kept in a shaded place for 20 to 25 days, and then roots will grow. When the leaf buds grow out, they can be potted.

3. Root cuttings: This can be done when repotting. Cut the stems that are exposed on the soil surface into small sections of 8 to 10 cm as cuttings. Then prepare the substrate. It is best to mix perlite, peat, etc., and then you can insert the cuttings.

<<:  Put some of it at the bottom of the pot in autumn, and the flowers will have strong roots, dark green leaves, and bloom continuously for 30 years!

>>:  She was so cruel that the flower even sprouted 10 buds and nothing could be stopped!
