How to make petunia bloom

How to make petunia bloom

1. Explosion method

1. Choose soil with good drainage and air permeability, and it should be acidic. You can choose a soil that is a combination of humus-rich soil and sandy soil.

2. Sow seeds at the right time. If anyone has grown petunias, they will find that if they are sown in autumn, the branches will be more compact when they grow out, while if they are sown in spring, the branches will be less compact when they grow out. Autumn sowing should be done between October and November, but due to regional differences, appropriate adjustments can be made.

3. Replace the flowerpot in time, as the petunia continues to grow, so it is necessary to replace the flowerpot in time to avoid hindering its growth.

4. During the seedling stage, topping should be carried out. The so-called topping is to pinch off the leaves on the top. When the number of branch leaves exceeds five, you can remove the top buds, leaving three to five leaves. In addition to topping, you can also prune the leaves appropriately, cutting off some large leaves that block the light from below, which will balance the sunlight exposure of various parts.

5. Fertilize frequently. Petunia requires a large amount of fertilizer. Liquid fertilizer should be applied every ten days during the growing season.

2. Precautions

1. Petunia likes a humid environment. To keep it moist, you can water it frequently.

2. Pay attention to pest prevention and control. When keeping plants indoors in winter, they are prone to damage by aphids and scale insects. At this time, you cannot spray pesticides directly as it will harm the plants. You need to wipe off the insects with a rag and disinfect the petunias. Place it in a ventilated place to reduce the risk of insect damage.
