Can asparagus fern be watered with rice water?

1. Reasons

Rice water is slightly acidic and contains many nutrients needed for plant growth, including a lot of phosphorus. Phosphorus can differentiate the leaf buds of the plant and facilitate flowering. It also contains iron, which can prevent iron deficiency chlorosis. If you water it with rice water frequently, the color of its branches and leaves will become brighter.

2. Method

Pour the rice washing water into an empty jar and seal the mouth tightly. The fermentation time depends on the season. It can be used after about one month of composting in winter and about 10 days in summer. When watering, it needs to be diluted with 70%-80% water before it can be used for watering.

3. Notes

Asparagus fern cannot be watered with unfermented rice water, otherwise it will cause the soil to become compacted, resulting in poor root breathing. Moreover, the unfermented ingredients in the rice water will accumulate, ferment in the soil, and generate heat, which will cause the asparagus fern to rot, its leaves to turn yellow, and its leaves to dry up. If you must use unfermented rice water to water the flowers, it must be settled or diluted.

During the growing season, pay attention to watering. Lack of water can easily cause the leaf tips of asparagus fern to dry out. At the same time, appropriate fertilizer should be applied, and a mixed fertilizer containing nitrogen and potassium should be selected.
