Cultivation methods and key points of Begonia

How to grow Begonia

Begonia is a shallow-rooted plant that prefers a warm and humid growing climate. It is usually planted in a semi-shaded environment. It is afraid of waterlogging and high temperature environments. When caring for it, the temperature needs to be kept between 15 and 25 degrees. Its general method of reproduction is cutting propagation.

Begonia prefers a humid growing environment. The most suitable growth temperature for it is between 15-25 degrees. It is not very resistant to high temperatures. If the temperature is higher than 30 degrees, it will cause its buds to fall off. It needs sufficient sunlight at ordinary times, otherwise it will cause poor growth. However, it needs shade in summer.

Watering method

When watering crabapples, it is generally based on the season. In spring and autumn, they are generally watered every two days, while in summer the growth is slow, so they are watered once a week.

Fertilization method

Begonias need to be fertilized appropriately at ordinary times. During the growth period, they are usually fertilized once every 7-10 days. You can use a thin organic liquid fertilizer. During the bud formation period, Scarlett O'Hara needs sufficient potassium fertilizer to facilitate flowering.

Pruning methods

When the crabapple is growing, it needs to be pruned regularly. After it is potted, the extra weak branches need to be cut off, and then 4-5 relatively strong branches should be used as the main trunk.

Begonia cultivation precautions

When caring for the crabapple, you need to pay attention to its good drought resistance, so you must water it in moderation to avoid water accumulation, otherwise it will cause root rot and affect its growth and development. You also need to have a good ventilation environment.
