Fishing line beheading method

1. Prepare No. 3 fishing line, plastic board, sharp knife, and carbendazim powder.

2. Choose the head to be chopped off. It is best to leave 1-2 layers of leaves at the base. Insert the plastic plate between the head to be chopped off and the base, and make sure it is inserted tightly.

3. Wrap the fishing line inside the plastic board and tie a knot. Make sure the fishing line reaches the deepest part of the leaf, otherwise it will easily cause the cut head to fall apart.

4. After carefully checking each leaf, hold the succulent with one hand and tighten the fishing line with the other hand. Pull it slightly and the head of the succulent will be cut off.

5. Use a knife to cut off the bad leaves at the wound and dispose of them. Use a clean paper towel to wipe off the tissue fluid flowing out of the wound.

6. Sprinkle carbendazim powder on the wound and place it in a ventilated and cool place for maintenance.

Why beheading?

Not all succulents need to be beheaded. Beheading is mostly done because the succulents have become diseased, or have grown too tall, or to make one end of the succulent grow into many heads. Of course, there is more than one way to behead someone.

Root rot and black rot

Root rot and black rot are one of the most common diseases of succulents. Today, Huahua will take the "king of black rot" - Jade Butterfly as an example to talk about how to deal with it after black rot.

1. Remove the black rot succulent from the pot, use a sterilized knife to cut off the rotten roots and black rot stems, leaving only the head.

2. Check the wound of the severed head. If there is still black rot, continue to cut until the wound becomes a healthy cross-section.

3. Find a bottle with a smaller diameter than the succulent, fill it with clean water, and place the cut succulent head on the bottle. Be careful not to let the cut end of the succulent touch the water surface. The best distance is 2-3cm.

4. Place the glass bottle in a window with diffused light and ventilation. After about ten days, the hydroponic succulents will grow white roots.

5. Put the rooted succulents back into the pot. Do not use the previous soil and the pot must also be disinfected.

Long beheading

Insufficient light can easily cause succulents to grow too tall, affecting their ornamental value, and they need to be beheaded.

1. After wiping and disinfecting the prepared knife with alcohol, cut off the overgrown succulent head, and leave the overgrown stem at the appropriate height according to your preference.

2. Apply carbendazim powder to the cut surface of the succulent and place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

3. Place the cut head in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 2-3 days, then gently bury it in the soil. The burial depth should be just enough to ensure that the succulent does not fall over, and then place it in a diffuse light environment for maintenance.

4. After about ten days, new roots will grow on the succulent heads, and new small heads will also grow on the elongated stems.

5. After 4-5 months, the small heads on the elongated stems grow up.

Beheading

Many friends like to plant many succulents together, filling a pot with succulents. To achieve this look from a succulent, beheading it is the easiest way.

1. Use the fishing line method to cut off the head of the ice berry, apply carbendazim powder on the cut, and place it in a cool and ventilated place.

2. After drying the cut heads for 2-3 days, place them in the original pot to take roots.

3. About ten days later, the cut leaf core will grow new heads, and new small heads will also grow on the stems under the leaves.
