Plum growing conditions and temperatures are suitable for the climate of the growing area

Introduction to Prunes

Prune is also known as California prune, European plum, and French black date. Black date is shaped like apricot plum. When prunes are ripe, the surface is dark purple and the flesh is amber. Varieties include Prune Goddess, Red Prune, Prune Blue Honey, France, etc.

Prune Growing Conditions

Plums prefer warm environments and are slightly cold-resistant. The average temperature for their growth should be above 9 degrees, the minimum temperature should not be lower than minus 22 degrees, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 42 degrees. They are suitable for planting in sandy loam with deep soil layers, and the pH value of the soil should be between 7 and 8.5.

Prunes are mainly distributed in the southwest of France, and China's prunes are produced in Xinjiang, which is the largest prune producing area in my country.

Plum planting time

In summer, bud grafting is done in early to mid-June, and in autumn, bud grafting is done in early August to early September. Water can be applied about 10 days after bud grafting to check for survival. If the petiole of the grafted bud falls off easily, it is considered alive.

Benefits of Plum Planting

The costs of growing prunes mainly include prune seedlings and land rental, labor costs, fertilizers and pesticides, as well as some other costs. The basic cost price is about 7,000 to 8,000 yuan, and the yield per acre is generally around 4,000 kilograms.

If we do not calculate according to the market price, but according to the purchase price, the lowest is 8-10 yuan per catty, so after deducting the cost, we can at least make more than 10,000 to 20,000 yuan, and the profit margin is also very good.
