How to grow rubber trees

How to grow rubber trees

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Rubber trees prefer loose and fertile sandy soil, and can be grown in a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and sand.

2. Watering: In spring and autumn, the soil should be kept moist. In summer, the demand for water is very high, so watering should be done every day. Increase the amount of watering appropriately. Spray water on the leaves or around frequently to increase the humidity in the air. In winter, the soil should be kept slightly dry.

3. Fertilization: Apply fertilizer in moderation, but use less nitrogen fertilizer. Too much nitrogen fertilizer will cause the stems and leaves to grow too long. Apply decomposed liquid fertilizer at intervals of 20 days during the growing period. In order to control the height of the formed plants, apply mixed liquid fertilizer every two months during the growth period.

4. Light: If you want the rubber tree to grow better, you need to give it plenty of sunlight. If you grow it indoors, place it in a sunny place and make sure the air circulates properly.

2. Breeding Methods

Cutting propagation: Cuttings are generally taken in spring and autumn. If watering is not reasonable in summer, the cuttings will easily rot. Leave the middle part of the branch and one leaf. When cutting, seal the upper and lower cuts of the branch to prevent juice from flowing out and affecting the survival rate. Insert it into the soil and maintain a growth temperature of 20℃. It will take root in about a month.

3. Common diseases

1. Gray spot disease: The rainy season is the peak period of the disease. Gray spots will appear after the disease occurs. Not only will they expand, but the leaves will also become dry and cracked and black particles will appear. You can spray with carbendazim during the disease period.

2. Anthracnose: It will harm the leaves, causing brown or white spots to appear on the leaves. In severe cases, the entire leaf will turn black and dry. The diseased leaves should be cleaned up in time, and ventilation and light transmission should be increased at ordinary times.
