Planting method of Dendrobium candidum in potted plants

Planting method of Dendrobium candidum in potted plants

1. Choose pot and soil

If you want to grow Dendrobium officinale well, the choice of flower pots and soil is very important. The material of the flower pot needs to be breathable, and there is no fixed requirement. It is best to use clay pots and ceramic pots with drainage holes at the bottom to facilitate the normal outflow of water. The height and diameter are about 10 cm, and should be matched with the overall size of the plant. Do not use a large pot for a small seedling. The choice of substrate is quite special. No soil is needed, bark will suffice. Coarse stones are placed at the bottom of the flowerpot, small particles are used in the middle, and bark and sawdust are placed on top.

2. Start Planting

Before planting, disinfect the substrate first, plant the seedlings in the center of the pot, then pile the bark and sawdust at the roots. Do not bury it too deep, just make sure to cover the roots, and slowly press the surrounding substrate tightly.

3. Maintenance afterwards

After planting, water the flowerpot thoroughly to soak all the bark and sawdust inside, then drain out the excess water so that no water accumulates at the bottom of the flowerpot. Choose a good placement, place it in a shaded area with scattered light, avoid exposure to strong sunlight, and pay attention to good ventilation conditions.
