How to grow hibiscus

How to grow hibiscus

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: It does not have high requirements for soil, but fertile and loose soil is more conducive to the growth and development of hibiscus.

2. Light: Hibiscus likes sunlight and needs sufficient light during its growth period, but it cannot be exposed to strong sunlight, otherwise it will be harmed. In summer, provide proper shade for it, or place it in a well-ventilated place indoors to prevent the flowers and leaves from drying out.

3. Watering: Water more when the air is dry, and control the amount of water. Be careful not to allow water to accumulate in the flowerpot to avoid root rot. If you water too much, drain the excess water in time.

4. Fertilization: Fertilization should be applied during its vigorous growth period and before flowering, generally with phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer as the main ingredients. This can ensure sufficient nutrients and is beneficial to the growth of hibiscus.

2. Breeding Methods

Propagation by cuttings: Select strong branches, cut them into small sections of 15-20 cm, and insert the branches according to the row spacing. The depth of 10-15 cm is generally best. Press the soil firmly and water it thoroughly. No base fertilizer is needed when propagating by cuttings.

3. Common Pests

During its growth period, there will be pests, usually aphids, red spiders, etc. After discovery, you should increase ventilation and then prune off the diseased branches. This can reduce the damage of pests to hibiscus and allow it to grow more healthily.
