How long does it take for blueberry cuttings to take root? How to root the cut branches?

Blueberry cutting rooting time

Blueberry cuttings are generally chosen before spring budding, and the time can be chosen between February and April. This is relatively warm and the cuttings are easy to take root after cutting. If the cuttings are too late or the temperature is too high, it will easily cause the blueberry branches to rot, thus affecting its survival rate. Usually about 10 to 20 days after cutting, the cuttings of blueberry branches will grow new roots .

Blueberry cutting rooting method

After blueberry cuttings, you need to take good care of the blueberry branches and water them appropriately. It is recommended to water them by spraying to avoid water accumulation. The rooting temperature should be kept at around 22-27℃ so that they can take root quickly.

Blueberry cutting method

1. Branch selection

When taking blueberry cuttings, be sure to choose good blueberry branches. The length of each branch should be about 30 cm. Cut off all the leaves on the lower side of the branch and only keep 1-2 leaves on the top. This can reduce water loss and increase the survival rate of the blueberry branches.

2. Take cuttings

Insert the blueberry branches vertically into the substrate, with the top buds exposed, and spray water appropriately. If multiple cuttings are taken, keep the distance between the blueberry branches more than 5 cm to prevent the blueberry branches from being too dense and causing poor development. After cuttings, keep the soil moist to avoid waterlogging. Remember not to fertilize before rooting.
