How to grow daffodils well

How to grow daffodils well

1. Lighting

Daffodils like sunny places. They are short-day plants, so they should be placed in a sunny room. It is best to receive more light when they are growing, because sufficient light can help them grow faster and better. If there is not enough sunlight, move them indoors. If there is sufficient sunlight, it is best to place them outdoors to receive light.

2. Moisture

The amount of water required varies at different growth stages. Daffodils require a certain amount of water to grow, especially during the growth period. After they grow and mature, their metabolism will slow down, so the amount of water should be reduced appropriately.

3. Temperature

To grow daffodils well, the temperature must be suitable. Sunlight can be used to increase the temperature. If the temperature is low, you can use a plastic bag to make a small greenhouse, put the daffodils in the plastic bag and blow air. When it is sufficient, just tie the bag.

4. Pruning

If daffodils want to grow well, they must be pruned in time. If not pruned, they will easily grow too lush. When yellow or dry leaves are found, they should be pruned off. Timely pruning can also reduce nutrient consumption. In addition, branches and leaves that are too long should also be pruned off. The tools used for pruning must be disinfected and the dust on the leaves must be cleaned first. After pruning, the leaves can be exposed to appropriate amounts of light to reduce the growth of bacteria.
