How to manage gardenia after repotting

How to manage gardenia after repotting

1. Ambient humidity

This plant likes a humid environment. The same is true after repotting, so the surrounding humidity requires a higher level. If it happens to be a hot season and evaporation is very fast, then it has to be increased artificially. For example, use a humidifier, sprayer, etc.

2. Light

The plant is generally weak right after being repotted. Then, you can't put it in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves may be dried and curled up. It needs proper shading, and semi-shaded place is best. If new leaves have grown, it means that it has been able to adapt to the surrounding environment better. At this time, you can take it out to dry in the sun when the light is not particularly strong.

3. Ventilation

This is very important, especially for plants kept indoors. It is best to open the doors and windows frequently to let in natural wind. However, sometimes it will be very hot and windless, so you can use something like a fan to circulate the air.

4. Moisture

Do not water too frequently after repotting. Under normal circumstances, you only need to water the plant every two or three days when the soil turns white and dry. Also, you need to water until the water flows out of the holes at the bottom of the pot.

5. Adding special substances to water

Because this plant likes acidic soil, it is best to add some (FeSO4) solution, or a few drops of vinegar, lemon juice, etc. to the water after repotting. This will help the plants adapt faster.
