How to grow sunflowers in water

How to grow sunflowers in water

1. Can it be raised in water?

A common way is soil cultivation, but it can also be planted in water. Be sure to keep the water clean and cut the part that is placed in the water into an oblique shape to help increase the part that absorbs water. Don't let it get too much sun, otherwise it will suddenly not be able to replenish water and eventually die of dehydration.

2. How to cultivate water

1. Prepare nutrient solution

Although it can be grown in water, its requirements for nutrient solution are relatively important and you can prepare it yourself. Its roots are relatively well developed, so growing it in water is a good method, but its flowers only bloom for about ten days, so using nutrient solution can achieve the best results.

2. Soak in hot water

Put its bottom in boiling water for about ten seconds, or in relatively hot water for about 2 minutes, and then soak it in cold water for a while. This can block its cut and prevent the tissue fluid in its stem from overflowing, which is harmful to its health.

3. Adding medicine

You can keep it in a bottle, put some salt and sugar in the bottle, and only 1/50 of the water is enough. You can add some chemical agents to the water to prevent the flowers from blooming and extend their shelf life. If you don't have any preservatives at home, you can use potassium permanganate to prevent rot, or you can use aspirin to make a simple preservative, which can help the flowers keep blooming.

4. Tea Soaking

Another way to prolong its survival time is to soak it in tea. If it is placed in a vase without roots, it will wither easily. Generally, if you use clean water, it will slowly wither in three to four days. If you make a cup of tea and wait until it cools down, then use that instead of water to extend its open time. It is best to use a stronger tea, so that it will not die within a week, and the flowers will be more beautiful and more fragrant.
