What fertilizer to use for freesia

What fertilizer to use for freesia

The need for fertilizer

Relatively speaking, its demand for fertilizer is quite large. Especially in certain specific periods, such as its vigorous growth period and after flowering.

Specific methods

(1) As we have said above, some base fertilizer should be applied long before planting to help it grow. Specifically, we can use some organic compost or some coarse granular organic fertilizer as its base fertilizer. Doing so will not only greatly improve its fertility, but also make it more breathable, which helps the roots breathe. However, it should be noted that the base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer. As for chemical fertilizers, less is fine, but more is not.

(2) Next is the question of fertilizer during the growth period. Because its bulb is relatively small, its ability to store nutrients is weaker. Then, we can add some fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium.

(3) Next comes the blooming of flowers. After cutting off the flower stalks, you can care for it normally. At this time, liquid fertilizer should be applied every ten days or so, mainly potassium.

Precautions

(1) We all know that the specific time for fertilizing is very important, and there are times when it is not appropriate to fertilize. For example, don't apply it on rainy days. This is because the soil is too moist.

(2) Then there is the issue of concentration. Whenever we talk about fertilization, we always have to mention the issue of concentration. Like many other plants, the fertilizer concentration applied to this plant should not be too high.
