How many times a year does freesia bloom?

How many times a year does freesia bloom?

1. The flowering period of this plant

As we have said above, it usually blooms only once a year, in late winter to early spring. Specifically, its flowering period is concentrated from February to May. However, it is only normal for it to bloom once a year. The climate in some areas may be very special, so special circumstances may also occur.

2. How to promote its flowering

(1) Temperature: If you want the plant to bloom, you have to promote the differentiation of flower buds inside it. Then, temperature is an indispensable factor. We have already mentioned its specific flowering time above. It can be seen that winter is very close. In fact, its flower buds are already in the process of forming during the winter. However, due to the relatively low temperature, they are temporarily in a dormant state. In order to make it bloom, the temperature must be raised appropriately, preferably between fifteen and twenty-five degrees. Here are some ways to raise the temperature at home. For example, place the flower pot closer to the heat source. For example, put a transparent plastic cover on the flower pot, leaving a small gap for ventilation, etc.

(2) Light: This is a short-day plant and needs a certain amount of light. However, the time cannot be too long. It is best to control it within twelve hours, and eight or nine hours is appropriate. In this way, it is easier to promote the differentiation of flower buds.

(3) Chemicals: If you want it to bloom faster, you can apply some chemicals to promote the differentiation of flower buds, thereby increasing the number of flowers. About a week or two after use, it will begin to sprout new inflorescences.
