How to grow a plant that takes root so that it can bloom

1. When will it bloom?

This plant can bloom, usually in winter, and its beautiful flowers can be seen from January to March. It prefers warm areas with water and light, and has good drought resistance, but is not very cold-resistant. It is best to plant it in acidic soil with good air permeability and drainage, and the temperature should not drop below zero during severe winter.

2. How to grow it to bloom

1. Pot and soil

If you want it to have the possibility of blooming, you should take good care of it when it is still a seedling. It is best to transplant in May and June. The easiest method is adventitious bud propagation. Carefully peel off the larger buds growing on the edge of the leaves, mix them with half rotten leaf soil and half sandy soil, and plant them in pots. The pots and soil should be renewed every spring to provide it with sufficient nutrients.

2. Water and fertilizer

During its growing season, you need to water it a little more to keep the soil in the pot moist, but there should be no water accumulation in the pot. When temperatures drop in autumn and winter, reduce the frequency of watering. When it is about to bloom in winter, you must strictly control the water content but don't forget to replenish water. Add fertilizer once a month during the growing period. If it grows too tall, pinch off the top and cut off the branches to help it grow more branches.

3. Prevent diseases and pests

Always pay attention to the condition of the leaves and carefully observe whether they have powdery mildew or are infested by pests. If they are diseased, they can be treated with a thousand times concentration of thiophanate-methyl. If it is an insect, you can use 1000 times the concentration of Lecithin EC to control it.
