How to care for jasmine before it blooms

How to care for jasmine before it blooms

1. Lighting

We need to give it plenty of light, because it prefers light and cannot grow in the dark for a long time, so we have to put it outside to let it receive sunlight. Its flowering period begins in June. If the sunlight is particularly good in May, we can move it to the balcony.

2. Watering

The soil it needs is loose, because in this way its drainage and ventilation are ideal. Since the roots of jasmine are not well developed, such an environment is more suitable for it. Because of the flower soil, we need to be careful to water it thoroughly when watering it. If you don't know to what extent, you can just wait until water seeps from the bottom and stop. Generally we water it once in the morning and evening.

3. Pruning

Pruning is actually the top priority, because it can promote its flowering. Before flowering, its branches will grow very quickly and will soon become lush. Generally, we cut off the new branches, and if these new branches grow slowly, we won’t mention it. If they grow fast, we need to cut off all the branches within ten centimeters from the top. In this way, there will be more side branches, and they will grow faster than before.

4. Repotting

Generally speaking, we have to change the pot before the flowering period, because the nutrients in the soil for more than two years are not enough to support it to bloom, and if its roots grow longer, the original pot and soil are simply not enough to meet its nutrient absorption.

If we change to a larger pot and keep the soil loose, we can bring it back to life and make it satisfying when it blooms.
