Planting method of marigold seeds and planting time and precautions

Harvesting marigold seeds

The best time to harvest marigold seeds is after the petals have fallen, which usually happens in late September or October. And they must be harvested in time to prevent them from being eaten by animals, and then planted in the spring. Note that only one seed is needed for each pot.

Marigold seed sowing time

When sowing marigold seeds, you must choose the right time. The most suitable growth temperature for marigold seeds is 15-25 degrees, so they are generally sown in spring and autumn. March to June in spring and August to October in autumn are the best . The temperature in these two time periods is more suitable, which can allow marigold seeds to germinate and grow better.

How to grow marigold seeds

1. Processing seeds

Before planting marigold seeds, soak them in warm water for 3 hours, then take them out and drain the water, then mix them with carbendazim before planting, so that the marigold seeds can grow healthily.

2. Soil environment

Marigold seeds do not have high requirements for soil, but try to make the soil fertile. Generally speaking, it is best to use loose, fertile and breathable soil. Applying some base fertilizer will increase the germination speed of marigold seeds. We can also use leaf mold, garden soil and gravel, mixed in a ratio of 4:4:2.
