How to care for pandan

How to care for pandan

1. Temperature

It can grow well between 15 and 30 degrees, but if the temperature rises to 35 degrees, it will affect its growth. When the temperature drops to 5 degrees, it will stop growing. It should be emphasized here that 5 degrees outside is different from 5 degrees inside. 5 degrees outside will cause frostbite. In winter, if the temperature outside drops to 7 to 9 degrees, it should be moved indoors.

2. Sunlight

If the temperature is between 15 and 30 degrees, you just need to avoid the overly strong sunlight at noon. But if the temperature reaches 35 degrees, you need to move it to a cool place. In winter, you can choose to place it on the south-facing balcony.

3. Moisture

Water is absolutely necessary during the growing period, especially in summer when the temperature is high. If it lacks water at this time, it will easily cause poor growth. But there are principles for watering. When the soil in the pot is 80% dry, you can water it. If you can't grasp this degree, it is better to water it when it is a little drier.

At the same time, when watering, make sure to water thoroughly at one time. Otherwise, if the time is too long, the soil will become lumpy, which will seriously affect the health of the plants. If your soil has very good drainage, you can water it once a day in the summer. When the temperature drops to 5 degrees in winter, be sure to reduce watering.

4. Nutrients

During its growing period, you can apply fertilizer every 10 to 15 days, but pay attention to the reasonable combination of flower fertilizers, or directly choose special flower fertilizers. During the fertilization process, do not splash fertilizer onto the surface of the plants to avoid burning the plants. Stop fertilizing in winter.

5. Soil

The roots of pandan are fleshy roots and have high requirements for flower soil. It must be grown mainly in sandy flower soil to grow well.
