How to water Deutzia

How to water Deutzia

1. Watering during the seedling stage

This plant is not very drought-resistant, but the soil in the pot should be kept slightly dry during the seedling stage, and watering should be done in small amounts. It is better to water a small amount at a time and do it several times rather than water too much at one time. Because its root system has not yet matured and is very fragile during this period. Once it is damaged by stagnant water, it is very likely that the plant will not be able to grow normally.

2. Watering during the growing season

Plants need sufficient water during their growing period, and this plant is no exception. But this does not mean that you can water it excessively. Just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist, and be careful not to allow water to accumulate in the soil. The best time is in the afternoon. If watering is not timely during this period, it will easily affect its normal growth.

3. Watering in summer

Water loss is greater during this season, so special attention should be paid to replenishing water in time. However, this plant is neither drought-tolerant nor does it like moisture, so when watering, in addition to ensuring that it is watered thoroughly, you must also pay attention to the drainage of the potting soil, especially to prevent water from stagnating in the soil. Generally, watering once every 1 to 2 days is sufficient.

4. Watering in winter

It is necessary to water thoroughly before winter. Many people call this watering "antifreeze water". After officially entering winter, water in small amounts to keep the potting soil 70% dry. When the surface of the potting soil is slightly dry, you can water it.

PS: This plant is not drought-tolerant and is afraid of waterlogging, so it is recommended that friends must choose soil with good drainage. If you are a novice, it is also recommended to plant it in a flower pot with good air permeability. This allows for timely remediation in case of watering errors.
