How to plant Mengxianglan

How to plant Mengxianglan

1. Planting time

March to April in spring, October to November in autumn.

2. Choice of flower pots

In the early stage of planting, it is best to choose a plain clay pot with a deep pot, a small upper mouth and a large drainage outlet. This is especially beneficial for beginners who are not good at controlling the amount of watering. Such a pot has very good air permeability and drainage. Using it to grow it can increase the chances of survival. Later, you can replace it with a porcelain basin or a purple clay basin.

3. Soil selection

The roots of this plant are fleshy, so it is suitable for sandy loam containing humus, which has good drainage. This is very beneficial to the growth of plants.

4. Planting methods

Select seedlings that are relatively strong and have strong growth potential, and rinse them in running water first, taking care not to damage any part of the plant.

Then fill 1/3 of the bottom of the pot with soil, and then place the treated seedlings into the pot. Make the pot as large as possible and do not let the roots get close to the wall of the pot. Then fill in 1/3 of the soil, compact it lightly with your hands, and finally pour in the remaining 1/3 of the soil and smooth it lightly with your hands.

The height of the entire soil should reach slightly above the middle of the flowerpot. You can put some gravel at the bottom of the pot, and pour some larger stones on the top of the pot, so that the entire pseudobulb can be buried.

After potting, water it immediately and make sure it is watered enough, then place it in a shady place. It does not need to be exposed to sunlight for the first month, and the soil in the pot can be kept at 80% humidity.
