How to water Echeveria

How to water Echeveria

1. The water requirement of this plant

Generally speaking, it prefers a relatively dry environment. Of course, this does not mean that it does not need water at all. This is unrealistic. It has a certain need for water in specific periods, mainly when it is growing vigorously. One thing that needs special attention is that it is particularly afraid of waterlogging, so when watering, do not water it too much.

2. Specific methods

(1) In early spring, because the plant is in a semi-dormant state, watering should be strictly controlled to keep the soil in the pot dry. As the temperature gradually rises, the plants slowly begin to grow. At this time, you can water them a little more, but not too wet.

(2) In summer, because the temperature is relatively high, the growth rate will slow down, so you must pay attention to water control. Otherwise, high humidity and high temperature can easily cause root rot.

(3) Normal watering can be resumed in early autumn, but as the temperature turns cooler in late autumn, watering should be gradually reduced.

(4) In winter, the temperature is even lower, so water control should also be strictly enforced. However, if you place it in a place with relatively high indoor temperature, about ten degrees Celsius, you can water it appropriately, but not too much.

3. Notes

(1) When the plant is first planted, do not water it for the time being. Place it in a cool place, and after two to three days, you can water it slightly, but the soil in the pot should still be relatively dry overall.

(2) There is a principle to follow when watering it. You should wait until the soil is completely dry before continuing to water it. Never overwater it at any time.
