Apply some of it on the roots of Clivia, and a group of orchids will fill the pot. The flowers are amazing!

Cut off the heads of wilted Clivia and turn them into a spectacular group of orchids!

The first method to grow Clivia into a group of orchids is to use the "beheading" method to force the Clivia to "suppress" the growth of new buds. This method is suitable for situations where the leaves of Clivia have spots and turn yellow, but the root system is intact. If it is a healthy orchid, Huahua does not recommend using this method!

How to do it:

1. Prepare a sharp blade and disinfect it with alcohol.

2. Remove the Clivia with rotten leaves from the pot, clean its head with a knife, and cut off all the leaves.

3. Trim the old roots and empty roots, and then soak the Clivia roots in potassium permanganate solution. If you don’t have it, you can use gentian violet instead. After soaking for 5 minutes, take out and dry in the shade.

4. Prepare the soil by mixing 4 parts of coarse river sand, 3 parts of soft pine needles, and 3 parts of leaf mold. Expose the soil to the sun for a few days before potting to reduce bacterial infection.

5. Bury the old roots of Clivia in the soil, and the cut surface of the roots should be exposed to the soil. Water less often, just make sure the soil is slightly moist, but don't let it get waterlogged.

6. The process of retaining buds is relatively long. The fastest time is three months, and if it is slow, it will take about half a year. The small green dots growing on the roots are new buds.

7. This method of wiping the orchids' heads is the fastest way to cultivate a group of orchids. The germination time is relatively uniform, the leaf size is uniform, and the flowering time is not much different.

8. In general, this method requires patience. If your Clivia is in poor condition or growth, and its leaves are sick, you can try this. Beginners who are just starting to grow orchids should not try it lightly!

The Clivia has grown well and is sprouting small buds, filling up the pot!

After growing for three or four years, if the Clivia is properly cared for, it will also produce some side buds. If it is not divided into pots, it will eventually grow into a group of orchids. Clivia is a fertilizer-loving plant. If you want it to sprout, it needs adequate nutrition. So how should you fertilize it?

How to do it:

1. Apply base fertilizer

1. When repotting, first cover the bottom of the pot with a layer of soil 2 to 3 cm thick, then sprinkle some cooked melon seeds or sesame seeds, and then cover it with soil again. About 20 seeds will be enough at a time.

2. For Clivia that loves to "eat" melon seeds, melon seeds are a good slow-release fertilizer. In the next six months to a year, the fertilizer effect of the melon seeds will be released slowly and gently.

2. Topdressing during the growing season

1. Collect the leftover pork bones, chicken bones, etc., add water and boil to remove the salt. Then take it out and dry it in the sun for 3 to 5 days.

2. Use a hammer or garlic mortar to crush the dried bones. The finer the better. When using, dilute it with 20 times of clean water and use it 1 to 2 times a month.

This is the introduction to the method of turning Clivia into a group of orchids.

As long as you have patience and slowly accumulate experience,

Your flowers will definitely grow better and better!
