How to make jade tree bloom

How to make jade tree bloom

1. Lighting

It originated in Africa and it likes sunlight. It should be placed in a sunny place, which is the most important point to make it bloom. In winter, it needs to be moved indoors, the temperature needs to be maintained above seven degrees, and it needs to be placed in a bright place so that it can bloom pink and white flowers in the spring of the following year. In hot weather, it will enter a semi-dormant state. If the light is too strong, the leaves will be sunburned, so it needs to be shaded. The weather is relatively cool from August to October, which is its growing season, and light should be restored at this time.

2. Watering

Its leaves are very pulpy and have a strong ability to resist drought. Don't water it too much on a normal basis. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering it. The temperature is very high in summer. Don't put it in the sun and then water it a lot, or the leaves will fall off easily. If it continues to rain heavily, move it indoors to prevent root rot.

3. Add fertilizer

During its growing season, add liquid fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium once every seven to ten days, not too concentrated. By the end of November, it will bloom at the tips of the leaves, and from January to March the whole tree will be full of flowers. Do not add fertilizer in summer and keep the room ventilated, otherwise the leaves will easily turn yellow and fall off. Move it indoors before frost falls, stop adding fertilizer, and water it basically once every fifteen days.

4. Pruning

It needs to be pruned every year, usually when the pot and soil are changed in spring or when it is moved indoors in early winter. This will make the tree look good, and it will be even more beautiful with flowers. You can trim it according to your own preferences. You can shorten the branches that are too long, remove the crowded branches inside, and it is also okay to cut off some of the leaves.

5. Notes

You need to rotate the pot every fifteen days to avoid uneven light exposure, which will cause one branch to be longer than the other, affecting the appearance and being bad for the growth of the flowers. Do not touch its juice as it is poisonous. Do not let children put it in their mouths by mistake. It will cause swelling if it touches the skin and cause blindness if it enters the eyes.
