Spring leaf cutting method

1. Leaf cuttings are not feasible

For spring ju, leaf cuttings are not feasible, as the entire plant of spring ju itself does not have leaves, making it even more difficult to propagate by leaf cuttings. Cutting is the most commonly used propagation method, which uses stem segments. It is also the simplest and easiest to operate propagation method, with the highest survival rate. This method can be used at home on a daily basis. It is best to choose the period from May to September when the climate is mild, but the summer in between is not suitable. Cut a stem segment from a grown plant, keeping it at about 10 cm in length, dry it slightly and then insert it into the sand bed. As long as the surrounding environment is suitable, it will take root after a period of time. You can continue to grow it or transplant it to another place.

2. Other methods

1. Sowing: Prepare suitable soil, which should be fertile, loose and breathable. Sow the selected seeds into the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil to prevent them from being blown away by the wind. Apply water appropriately to keep it moist and wait for the seeds to germinate and seedlings to grow.

2. Grafting: Choose the same species as the rootstock, cut the stem segment as the grafting strip, cut a small incision, insert the two together, and wait for them to heal and grow together.

3. Division: If small plants grow on the plant, you can cut off this part and plant and cultivate it.
