How to propagate star begonia

1. Seeding method

Time selection: For this method, it is best to do it at the beginning of spring.

Seed selection: In order to increase the chance of survival, we have to choose those that are fully mature, healthy, and as full as possible.

Soil quality: We should mainly consider its drainage and nutrients, so you can choose humus soil.

Specific steps: Sprinkle the seeds on the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Next, we need to control the temperature at around 16 degrees, and the humidity must be guaranteed. Wait patiently for it to grow roots and leaves. When it grows two or three leaves, you can move it into a pot.

2. Cutting method

Time selection: For this method, it can be operated from May to June.

Material selection: It is best to choose the newly grown tender branches at the top of the mother plant, which should be about ten to fifteen centimeters in length.

Specific operation: Cut the selected material with sterilized scissors and wait for the incision to dry. Once dry, insert it into the substrate. Keep spraying every day. After about two or three weeks, you can see it growing roots.

3. Division method

Scope of application: When using this method, it is generally used for clumping varieties.

Soil quality: Refer to the soil used for seed propagation.

Specific steps: Use a knife to divide the selected mother plant into several parts, each with roots. Be careful not to use too much and not to damage the roots. Then, just plant them separately in the substrate.
