How to plant bamboo seeds

How to plant bamboo seeds

one. step

1. Prepare the culture soil for growing seedlings, because this plant cannot resist waterlogging by nature. If there is too much waterlogging, it may damage the roots of the plant. In severe cases, it may even rot the plant and make it lose its vitality. Therefore, the soil must have good drainage and appropriate permeability. Moreover, it likes loose, fertile, acidic soil and cannot accept poor or saline-alkali soil. So we can generally find some leaf mold and river sand and mix them together. This kind of soil is not only high in nutrients, but also has good drainage.

2 Before planting the seeds, in order to increase the germination rate after the seeds are planted, we can appropriately promote the growth of seedlings. You can prepare some 30 to 35 degree water to soak the seeds for two days. If you are afraid that the water will cool down, you can place it in a warmer place and sow it when you see signs of the seeds beginning to sprout.

3 Because the seeds germinate at different speeds, the soil layer we cover them with can be slightly thicker when we sow.

4 If you do not plan to transplant the seedlings after germination, it is best to arrange a proper spacing between seeds. However, because this plant can grow very tall, it is generally recommended to transplant after raising the seedlings.

5 Generally, the seeds will sprout one to two months after sowing. The germination rate of this plant can reach 80%.

6 When the leaves of the seedlings are 8 to 10 cm long, it means we can transplant them. It is worth noting that when transplanting, 3 to 5 seedlings must be transplanted in clusters. This can increase the survival rate after transplantation and help these seedlings grow.

two. Notice

When it is hot in summer, you can spray water on the leaves and splash water on the ground to increase the humidity of the air. If it is the rainy season, you must prevent the accumulation of moisture in the soil.
