1. Soil requirementsWhen planting in the ground, the distance between plants should be at least 50 cm and at most 100 cm. The specific length is determined according to the size and needs of the seedlings. The best place to grow the seeds is in a location with adequate sunlight, good ventilation and nutrient-rich soil. 2. Water volume controlIn summer, the roses grown outdoors suffer from water shortage due to the evaporation of water caused by the sun's exposure, so we must water them in time. In areas where they are redundant in summer, attention must be paid to drainage to prevent rot of their roots. Summer is the period of rapid growth for rose hips, and sufficient water is needed to ensure bud formation and flowering. 3. Fertilizer applicationDuring winter plowing, you can apply human feces or decomposed organic fertilizers, and then turn the fertilizers into the soil. When the roses are in the growth period, fertilizers need to be applied frequently to ensure their nutrition. Diluted fertilizer should be applied when the weather is hot and the soil is dry. When the rose flowers fade, apply 1 to 2 applications of quick-acting fertilizer, and apply the last application of fertilizer in late autumn. Weeds around the rose should be removed in time before applying fertilizer each time. Pruning branches There are basically three types of pruning for Rosa canadensis: one is pruning the plant shape, the second is summer pruning, and the third is winter pruning. 1) In order to make the shape of the Rosa rugosa plant look more beautiful, we can cut off one-third or half of the longer branches, and cut off one-third of the other branches. Don't just do a simple pruning, otherwise the plant will grow taller and the flowers will become smaller. 2) The purpose of summer pruning is to cut off some dead flowers or flower buds that are not growing well, which can reduce the plant's nutrient consumption and lay a good foundation for the next flowering. 3) Winter pruning requires retaining branches and cutting off old, weak and diseased branches. During the pruning process, pay attention to the overall shape of the Rosa macrophylla and do not destroy its beauty. Generally, 4 to 6 branches are left, and the length of each branch is kept between 30 and 45 cm. You can feel free to cut off the other redundant branches. |
