How to grow ice water flowers

How to grow ice water flowers

1. Soil

Ice water flower has no special requirements for soil. In order to ensure normal growth, it is best to provide loose, fertile, breathable sandy soil, which can be mixed with peat soil, perlite, leaf mold and river sand.

2. Lighting

It is relatively shade-tolerant, but needs sufficient light during its growth process and should be placed in a place where it can receive light. The light in summer is relatively harsh, so it needs to be shaded in time and not exposed to direct sunlight. The temperature is relatively low in winter, so it should be placed on the south balcony to get more sunlight to increase its own temperature.

3. Water and Fertilizer

During the growth process, the soil in the pot should be kept moist and watered regularly, but not excessively. In summer, you can spray water on the leaves to keep them clean, and reduce watering in winter. Growth also requires fertilizer supplementation. Apply compound fertilizer every two weeks or so to make the plants strong. After autumn, you can add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

4. Temperature

The suitable temperature for growth is 18~22 degrees Celsius. Try to maintain it within this temperature range. It cannot tolerate the cold and should be moved indoors in time in winter to avoid cold winds. The temperature for wintering should not be lower than 7 degrees Celsius. Pay attention to keep warm and prevent frostbite.

5. Pruning

Pruning is also an important step in growth. Regular pruning during the growing season can promote branch growth, and short pruning and topping should be done in spring.
