Steps for planting crystal candles

Steps for planting crystal candles

1. Choose a flower pot

Different growth stages have different requirements for flower pot specifications. You should choose a suitable flower pot according to its size and growth speed. However, the crystal anthemis we usually buy is already medium seedlings or above, about fifteen centimeters. When planting, you can choose disposable 160x150 mm plastic pots. If you use previously used pots, you must clean them, disinfect them, and then dry them before use. If you buy a new pot, you must soak it in water for a day or two before using it to remove the alkalinity.

2. Make drainage layer

Making a drainage layer for the flower pot will help with better drainage and ventilation. First, place two small tiles alternately on the vent hole to prevent the vent hole from being blocked by soil.

3. Selecting the Matrix

When potting, the substrate must have a strong ability to retain water and fertilizer, no water accumulation, and good permeability. And it can fix the plants well. Before planting, the substrate must be thoroughly disinfected and pests and diseases must be completely eliminated to ensure the normal growth of anthurium.

4. Filling and planting

Filling the soil should be done in two steps. First, put four to five centimeters of gravel at the bottom of the pot, then put two or three centimeters of culture soil and place the anthurium in the center of the pot. This will allow the roots to stretch better. Double planting here will be better than single planting. Finally, fill the pot with culture soil. After potting, fill the entire pot with soil without leaving any holes. Remember not to press it with your hands, otherwise it will damage the roots.

5. Shading and watering

When planting, shading is required because Anthurium naturally likes shade, so a shading net with a 75% shading capacity is needed to provide necessary shading to avoid too strong light, and then water it, and make sure it is watered thoroughly. After planting, spraying fungicides in time can prevent diseases and pests.
