Sucker propagationThe first is to divide the buds at the base of the stem or the crown buds next to the fruit, which is what we call sucker propagation. If we choose the crown bud, we have to wait until it has three to five leaves on the top before cutting it off. If it is a sucker bud, we have to wait until it is fully mature. When the leaves themselves become hard and open, we can remove the leaves at the base, and small brown dots will appear. At this time, we can use a knife to cut off the leaves with buds and part of the stem segment. Then, place the cut material in the sun for about one to two hours, insert it into a matrix mixed with river sand, perlite and other materials, and wait for it to grow roots. After it takes root, it can be cultivated in the soil. Propagation by divisionTime: It is best to do it in early spring (around February to March) because the soil is thawing and the timing is more suitable. Specific method: Take the plant out of the pot, shake off the excess soil, and separate the roots of the plant as much as possible. Then, use a sharp knife to divide the plant into several pieces, making sure each piece contains a sufficient amount of roots. Then, we can prune the leaves, which will increase the survival rate of the plant. After pruning, soak them in disinfectant for about five minutes, take them out and dry them, then you can plant them in the container. Post-management: After moving the small plant into the container, it is necessary to irrigate the roots or water it thoroughly. It will take about three to four weeks for new roots to grow. Please note that you should not water the plant during this period to prevent the plant's roots from rotting. However, we can still spray some water on the leaves. Also, the sunlight cannot be too strong. |
