How to Make Wintersweet Bloom for Christmas

How to Make Wintersweet Bloom for Christmas

principle

When some plants encounter a harsh environment to which they are not adapted, they will sometimes complete the entire process of flowering and fruiting within a very short period of time in order to continue their offspring. Then, we can take advantage of this characteristic of plants and control the amount of water or fertilizer. These two methods are very effective.

Specific methods

Generally speaking, if other conditions are the same, if you water the plant less, although the leaves of the plant will partially dry up, its flowering period can be delayed. On the contrary, if you water them enough, the flowers will bloom early. Therefore, to achieve our goal, we need to estimate the specific time when the plants bloom and decide whether to water them more or less. If it is expected to bloom before Christmas, water it less to delay the flowering period; if it is expected to bloom after Christmas, water it more to advance the flowering period.

There is also the treatment of fertilizers. One is how much fertilizer to apply. If more fertilizer is applied, its flowering period may be advanced; if less fertilizer is applied, the flowering period may be delayed. Second, the type of fertilizer applied also has a certain impact. If some nitrogen fertilizer is applied at the end of the flowering period, the flowering period can be extended. So, the specific approach is that if Christmas is coming soon, but the plant has no signs of flowering, you can apply more fertilizer to advance its flowering period. If the plant is about to bloom before Christmas, you can stop using nutrients and postpone the flowering period. Of course, nitrogen fertilizer can also be used.
