How to reproduce the dew lily

How to reproduce the dew lily

1. Propagation by seeding

Generally speaking, dew lilies can be propagated by sowing. The seeds of its flowers are very small, and the hypocotyl is relatively short, so we should generally use the sowing method commonly used for succulents. We can first take some of its seeds, and then sprinkle them in the soil with finer particles. Then, after planting them, remember not to cover them with soil. You can just cover them with a layer of film. Also, keep the soil moist and let light shine in. Generally, after a week of this, the seeds will begin to sprout. We also need to be careful after it sprouts. At this time, we should gradually uncover it to ventilate it. At this time, you should also pay attention to watering. Don't water too much. You should reduce the number of watering to prevent the soil from becoming compacted. Generally, it will start to bloom after a year, so this method of reproduction has a relatively high survival rate, and most people choose this method.

2. Cutting method

In addition to the sowing method, dew lily can also be propagated by stem cuttings. Generally, we select the variety and then process its stems. Then the soil needs to be slightly processed. Generally, the prepared soil is spread out and then dried in the sun for 2 to 3 days. This will give the soil enough time to be sterilized. Then we can insert the prepared stems into the soil and wait for it to take root and sprout. Generally, you don't need to water it much, otherwise its roots will rot easily. It doesn't need too much light at this time, otherwise it will not grow very well. You can place it in low-light conditions or indoors. Once it grows roots and sprouts, you can expose it to sunlight all day. And you need to water it more during this period to make it grow better.
