How to grow Buddleja

How to grow Buddleja

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Soil: Buddleja does not have too high requirements for soil. Because it has a strong ability to adapt to growth, general soil can be used. However, using loose and fertile soil is more conducive to its growth. If conditions permit, try to use soil with high air permeability.

2. Sunlight: Relatively speaking, it grows faster in sunlight, so you should allow it to receive more sunlight when the light is not strong. However, it is necessary to shade the plant at noon in midsummer to prevent it from being sunburned, as it is very afraid of strong light. In spring, autumn and winter, it is recommended that the plants receive full-day sunlight.

3. Humidity: A certain humidity should be maintained during the breeding period, and it should be watered in time to keep the soil slightly moist. This condition can allow it to grow more vigorously. However, there cannot be excess water in the potting soil. It is very afraid of waterlogging, and if there is water accumulation, the roots will easily rot.

2. Disease and Pest Control

During the breeding period, improper maintenance may cause infestation by diseases and insects. If timely prevention and control are not carried out, the growth of the plants will be hindered. Common diseases and pests are leaf blight, rust, leaf spot, red spider mites and borers. It is recommended to buy pesticides as soon as possible and then use scissors to cut off the affected parts.
