How to reproduce Dendrobium officinale

How to reproduce Dendrobium officinale

Division

This method is very common. Needless to say, the selection of plants must be those that grow well and are relatively dense. Remove the old roots below, and try not to damage the roots when separating them. The roots can be pulled apart by hand and do not need to be cut off directly. The new sprouts should be placed in the middle of the pot, then filled with soil and pressed down a little. This completes the division process. Be patient and you will see successful plants.

Sprouting

You may not be very familiar with this method, but it is actually not difficult. As long as our Dendrobium sinensis is more than three years old, this method can be adopted. Because at this time, small plants can grow from their top or base. However, the selection of small plants also has its own requirements. You should choose small plants with three or four leaves, two or three roots, and the length should be about four or five centimeters. Insert the plants that meet the above conditions shallowly into the potting soil. However, if you use this method, you need to have considerable patience, as it will take two years for them to bloom.

Cuttings

This method is also familiar to everyone, and it should be done when changing the pot. It is best to do this between April and August. Because they have many stem nodes, buds can grow on these nodes. There are certain requirements for the selection of branches. You must choose branches that have not bloomed and are relatively full, and apply some substances that are beneficial to rooting on the cut. After planting, place it in a semi-shaded place, but this type of reproduction is also relatively slow, and it will take two or three years for the flowers to bloom.

Okay, now you have learned three of the methods. As for whether you can grow them well, it still depends on whether you can continue to pay attention to them in the future and whether you can control each key factor well. If you do well, you will naturally be able to harvest beautiful Dendrobium sinensis!
